NEW BATTALION 14 LAFD WEB LINKS 2/28/06

There are a number of outstanding web sites available for our members. Many are related to training and would be of great value for those wishing to improve their skills or promoting through the ranks. We have added several of these links on our site. they can be found under the "Links" heading on the right side of this page.
Newly added this week are "LAFD Tactical Training", "Fire Officer Promotional Program", "TACTICAL DECISION GAMES", and "ICS Web Site". Please take a look and let us know of any other sites that you think would be valuable and we will link them as soon as possible. You can reach us by clicking on the name of any Battalion 14 Officer (at the right) and sending us an e-mail.
Thanks

PROMOTIONAL DINNER @ FS 60 - ENGINEER CHRISTIAN BURGESS

Tradition Lives! Recently promoted Engineer Christian Burgess, who was assigned to Fire Station 60 B, returned to his home at the big house to put on a good ol' fashioned PROMOTIONAL DINNER (remember those?) with his former crew on Thursday, February 23.
Eng. Burgess finished #2 on the Engineer's List but put on a dinner worthy of a #1, serving up Prime Rib, Lobster Tail, Stuffed Potatos, Creamed Corn, etc. Christian was assisted by his bride Devon.
Christian's former skippers Randy Beaty and Scott Mac Leod returned to make sure all the food was consumed (they ate most of it) and see old friends. Camaraderie is alive and well.
Great Job!
GREATER ALARM FIRE 2/22/06
Battalion 14 responded to a reported structure fire at 3623 Cahuenga near Universal Studios early Wednesday afternoon. First arriving companies reported a 2 story commercial with heavy smoke showing from the front portion of the structure. E-76, E-86 and E-97 made the initial attack on the fire and carefully coordinated their operations in order to avoid opposing hose streams.
With Truck 27 and Truck 35 handling roof ops the fire was confined to the occupancy of origin. Damage was estimated at $170,000 and the cause is under investigation.
