BATTALION 14 MEMBERS PAY TRIBUTE TO FALLEN FIREFIGHTERS

Battalion 14 members, Engineer Greg Pascolla and Firefighter/Staff Assistant Brett Willis, traveled to South Carolina to join the Charleston Fire Department in paying tribute to the 9 Firefighters who lost their lives fighting a large commercial structure fire last month. Together, with thousands of Firefighters from throughout the nation, they attended a memorial service honoring the 9 fallen Charleston Firefighters. These are some of the pictures taken by Greg and Brett during their visit to Charleston....



The deadly greatly alarm fire was at a large commercial sofa store...



The community of Charleston was shaken by the loss of 9 of their own and turned out by the thousands to pay their respects and support the families of their firefighters....



Engineer Greg Pascolla views some of the messages and flowers placed by the community at a make shift memorial in honor of the fallen firefighters.....



The 9 flag covered caskets at the memorial service held at the sports arena in Charleston. The moving memorial service was attended by thousands of firefighters and community members.....



The fire building was an all steel building with a heavy fire load making it difficult for the Charleston Firefighters....



Firefighter Brett Willis stands tall with Firefighters from New York, who joined hundreds of other Fire Departments, in paying tribute to the fallen firefighters.



The large procession of fire engines was lead by a Charleston Engine Company.....



The fire building which claimed the lives of the 9 Charleston Firefighters.



Firefighters salute the caskets as the processional enters the sports arena at the beginning of the service.
