PHYSICAL RESCUE 8/12/05
Battalion 14 responded to a single vehicle high speed traffic accident with a Physical Rescue at the intersection of Sherman Way and Laurel Canyon Bl. early Friday morning. First arriving units found a single compact sedan that had crossed over the center divider while headed eastbound on Sherman Way at a high rate of speed. The vehicle had become airborne and struck a large concrete block building, rolled several times and come to rest up-side down trapping the two occupants inside.
LF 89 and LF 60 immediately initiated a jaws operation utilizing spreaders and shears while E 89, E 60 and LF 102 assisted with Scene Safety and EMS ops. RA 89 and RA 60 assisted by RA 102 attempted to stabilize the patients and eventually transported them to Trauma Centers in critical condition.
