MARYLAND LIEUTENANT VISITS BATTALION 14

On Tuesday, April 18, Battalion 14 was proud to host a visitor from "Back East" when Lieutenant Rob Kight from the Prince George's County Maryland Fire/EMS Department dropped by Fire Station 60.

Rob got the opportunity to "ride-a-long" on emergency responses and observe our field operations. In addition, Rob requested and was given a DVD on Firefighter Self Rescue produced by the members of Fire Station 89.

Prince George's County, Maryland is a diverse and multicultural community bordering the eastern edges of our Nation's Capital. Annual call volume for the Fire/Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Department in 2003 exceeded 133,000, with emergency medical responses accounting for nearly 70 percent of the services. Over 1,900 active career and volunteer personnel staff 44 Fire/EMS stations, which protect a population of over 833,000 residents, creating a jurisdiction larger than five states.

Rob....Thanks for the visit and stay safe out there!
